Cargill's refined oils business is the market leader in Europe, bottling about 500 million litres of oil at its strategically located production facilities. With its geographic spread, Cargill is well placed to meet increasing European centralisation and to deliver its clients’ most stringent service and logistic requirements.
We have two refined oils facilities in Belgium; refining and bottling operations in Izegem and a refinery in Antwerp. The crush and refinery plant in Antwerp was acquired in 1980 and was subsequently converted to a switch plant, allowing the processing of both soybeans and rapeseeds. Cargill acquired the Izegem refining plant from Vandemoortele in 1998 and its bottling plant in 2002. Since then, Cargill has made significant investments in the Izegem plant, making it a state of art production facility.
From these two Belgian locations, we can offer our retail, catering and professional customers a comprehensive range of oils. These range from basic monoseed oils such as refined sunflower oil, through various origins in olive oil, to tailor made solutions for frying and salad applications.
Significant investments have been made into research, development and innovation to constantly respond to the changing needs of our customers, both in oil applications and in packaging types.
We supply our customers with a wide variety of pack units (from 250 ml to 1000 litres) and pack types (pet-pehd-glass-metal-IBC) which are designed to meet the requirements of the different market segments.
