To mark our company’s 150th anniversary in 2015, the Belgian Cargill Cares Council set itself a challenge : to achieve the symbolic mark of 150 activities that boost our cooperation with local communities and good causes. Our employees rose to the occasion, and then some. The counter closed at no less than 208 charity activities, equalling €239.238 to support our local community partners. A recap of all the activities is now bundled in the Cargill Cares Belgium brochure, available upon simple request.
In 2016, Cargill continues on a similar vein, for example helping out the Special Olympics in La Louvière with a team of volunteers. Several Cargill teams have also marked their calendars in September to participate in the Corporate Relay for Life.
Across the globe, Cargill is committed to improving the communities where we live and work. Cargill’s charitable giving exceeded $57.9 million across 57 countries in the fiscal year 2015. All activities are linked to three focus areas that reflect our goal to be the global leader in nourishing people: food security and nutrition, education and environment.
